Over the years, Capt. Dewilde has built a strong reputation in the Belgian shipping community by providing customized, high-quality management services in an efficient and risk-adverse manner. Carmen continues consistently to incorporate all recent developments in the marine industry, specifically regarding ISM, ISPS and has established an excellent track record. 

Carmen’s primary concerns are to improve continuously the safety and management skills of people ashore and aboard ship, including preparing them for emergencies related to safety and environmental protection. This while she assures, on behalf of the Belgian Shipping - Towing & Salvage Services organization, security related exclusive technical, administrative and commercial services to safety of the organization, its trusted partners and its subsidiaries including advices of sales, acquisitions and new build construction within the DPA Meetings of the nautical institute.

Capt. Carmen Dewilde is a teacher with Portilog and lector at the Antwerp Maritime Academy. Portilog offers specialized training for employees on management level, active in the Port of Antwerp and related businesses. This includes, inter alia, advanced courses on all aspects of transport, maritime and customs law, strategy-and people management and SHEQ-compliance.

Carmen  assures since 3,5 years integrate safety management, as SHEQ Manager, DPA en CSO, for the Belgian Shipping - Towing & Salvage Services organization URS. The months that preceded the implementation of I.S.P.S.-Code in the Antwerp Port, Carmen guaranteed the entire training coordination at Tecto where she was responsible for all related security trainings and information-sessions.
Before that, as Operations- & QHSE Manager, Carmen was also responsible for the correct implementation of ISM, and compliance with all rules and regulations for the vessels of a company active in provision of Ship Management, Crew Management and New Building Consultancy services to third parties worldwide. Carmen investigated accidents and damages, managed audits and was also for follow up of commercial operations of the vessels.

In the commitment of diligent mother to become, she chose to re-enter ashore and amplify on the important matter of safety and security and people management, based on the experiences she lived worldwide as seafarer. As former Captain of LNG-ships she obtained an Executive Master Degree in HR at the Antwerp Management school and engaged to transfer and share her knowledge and insights by adopting management by assiduous example and hands-on participation.
