Welcome to WISTA FinlandWISTA Finland ry (registered association) has been active since 1980's. By now 1997 was internationally the most prominent year for WISTA Finland ry as during that year WISTA Finland ry. organized the international WISTA conference in Helsinki, hosting more than 100 women from around the world.
Today WISTA Finland ry has about 50 members from various sectors of shipping and trading: ship owners, charterers, ship brokers, insurers, traders, lawyers, surveyors, logistic professionals, governmental bodies, ports and more.
WISTA Finland ry's activities include both events in which the main focus is on professional development and events which concentrate more on the social side of life. Combination of these two gives excellent networking possibilities for all women within international shipping and trading industry and enhances business possibilities and information flow within the industry.
Our goal is to have interactive and professionally interesting meeting, which usually include a visit to a shipping or trading related company or facility where we have the privilege of being introduced to the business at hands. Sometimes even very practical happenings are arranged, like a customized ship in distress survival course at the Maritime Safety Training Centre.
