Welcome to WISTA Philippines

WISTA Philippines, Inc. is an organization devoted in promoting the continuing education and networking opportunities of its members who are women involved in maritime transportation business and related trades worldwide. It aims to serve as a center for exchange of contacts and experiences among the individual members and creates a greater opportunity for women to participate in the decision- and policy-making in the shipping industry.

Although WISTA in the Philippines actually started more than a decade ago with a mere membership of 3 women, it was only recently formally organized with the incorporation of WISTA Philippines. It aims to have several projects in a year to achieve the organization’s objectives.

WISTA Philippines is affiliated with the Women's International Shipping & Trading Association (WISTA), an international organization founded in UK in 1974 with over nineteen (19) National Associations. It aims to be a major player in attracting more women to the industry and in supporting women in management positions by enhancing their competence and empowering career success.

WISTA Philippines is open for membership to all women at management level involved in the shipping industry, whether they are in the public or private sector. Membership in WISTA Philippines makes a difference because it enables the members to be better prepared in facing the challenges of the shipping industry.
